Comvergent was recently commissioned by Huawei to upgrade a historic UK water tower in order to become 5G ready.
The project, large scale and complex in its nature, had a number of restrictions that required thorough planning.
The water tower had recently had a new roof fitted, meaning that abseiling down to the antennas was not an option. Because of this, and due to the shallow underground water pipes and legacy equipment, the large scale project required a bespoke scaffolding solution that would be used both internally and externally.
Being a listed building, specialised teams with specific certifications were also required to work on the job.
The project was successfully completed, providing increased coverage and greater download speeds for the local area.
This is just one example of a number of 5G sites that Comvergent are helping to roll out across the UK.
