Comvergent demonstrates commitment to Health & Safety

We’ve had a busy few weeks at Comvergent. Not only have our teams been working tirelessly to keep Britain connected during the COVID-19 outbreak, but behind the scenes we have also been working towards two major health and safety milestones.

The first, ISO 45001, is an ISO standard for management systems of occupational health and safety with the goal of reducing occupational injuries and diseases, including promoting and protecting physical and mental health. The new ISO 45001 award builds on our previous OHSAS 18001 accreditation, and reflects our ongoing commitment to workplace Health and Safety and the well being of our colleagues. Not only do we continue to focus on adhering to the stringent safety measures that our industry requires, but we have also introduced new initiatives such as a team of mental health advisors.

A few days after celebrating this accomplishment, we then heard we had been awarded SafeContracor status; the UK’s leading health and safety accreditation.

The standard, which is trusted by the world’s most respected organisations to make them safer, healthier and stronger, further demonstrates our commitment to health and safety as, MD, Paul Garston explains:

“The industry we work within and the type of work our teams are executing on a daily basis require us to place health and safety as a top priority. However, as a team, we identified that we wanted to go one step further, showing our stakeholders just how seriously we take the issue, whilst also opening up the business to opportunities with new customers.”

“A pandemic, like the one we are living through at the moment, demonstrates just how vital stringent health and safety precautions are to an organisation. As key workers, we’re proud that our teams can continue to work safely and keep Britain connected as a result of the measures we have put into place.”
